光纖有高容量、高品質、高速率及高保密性等特性，被廣泛運用於電信、網路、有線電視等地方，為了避免網路服務中斷，確保線纜及傳輸品質，正確安裝佈線和維護是不可忽視的！所以必須使用光纖測試儀器進行檢測維護。光功率計(Optical Power Meter)用於測量絕對光功率或檢測光纖線纜的相對損耗。在光纖系統中，測量光功率是最基本的，光功率通常以dBm或mW為單位表示，可透過光功率值（dBm或mW）以及光損耗（dB）來判斷光纖線纜的品質好壞與傳輸效能是否影響網路或訊號傳輸。
Features in today’s optical power meter:
⊕Optical power meter can test both multi-mode and single-mode fiber cable.
⊕It’s able to measure optical power in dBm or mW and detect power loss in dB for installers and troubleshooting to determine transmission efficiency.
⊕It can detect frequency signal such as 270Hz, 1KHz, 2KHz from optical light source.
⊕Optical power meter can test both multi-mode wavelength 850nm to 1300nm and single-mode wavelength 1310nm to 1625nm
